Credits are only issued for valid results.

I checked two WU with Client errors and found
- exit code 1073807364 (0x40010004)
This is usually due to a graphics crash. Boinc graphic are still problematic with Vista. Many of the Vista issues will hopefully be addressed with Boinc V6.x. This version will also introduce a new method of handling graphics.

If its your Vista system, then the problem may be Vista fast shutdown which doesn't allow Boinc time to exit properly. The work around is to exit Boinc before shutting down the computer. There is also a registry hack that delays Vista shutdown but I can't seem to locate the post about it at the moment.

the setting for "20000" is already there in the registry.
and I add the shutdown.bat .. it should be save in the c:\\ directory, right?

however, shutdown time is still quite fast, less than 10 seconds.

Increase the number if need be. 20000 milliseconds = 20 seconds. Others have reported it works fine with numbers between 30000 and 60000 milliseconds.
Do know that this setting will not be used until after you rebooted the system at least once, as Windows reads the registry when it's booting up (before log in).

Just put it on your desktop. Unless that's a secure place in Vista where you can't add anything (I don't know).

quote from Ageless on the Boinc board.
Some people have said the number should be between 30,000 and 60,000 milliseconds.

@Ageless
I guess there is no need to quote you when you're here to speak for yourself.
I got to learn to read all the posts.

Could be a totally different Ageless that's over there. ;-)

But you're forgiven. I'm just passing through. Go quote me all you want. :-)

adding 60000 in the registry didn't help. shutdown time still in less than 10 seconds.

shutdown.bat however, can do the trick. so thanks guys.
hope they fix this problem in the next version of boinc as you said.
