the size of the team is really not very important. the fact that you are participating in seti@home is by far the most important thing.
my team, shhh listen , has only 1 member. If no one else joins the team is is completely ok. To me the most important thing is that my pc wii be on-line and crunching when that long awaited for signal finally comes in.
I WANT TO WISH ALL OF YOU THE HAPPIEST AN SAFEST NEW YEAR YOU HAVE EVER HAD

I have to agree with you. When it comes down to it, The only reason we are here is to find the sound that will prove what we are looking for. I shall also follow in the footsteps of team shhh listen. I am tired of trying to recruit people that only want to chat or shoot the ca ca. Plus its a nice feeling knowing that I am The only one on a great team. Founder and Only member of Team United Paralyzed People's Republic.

OK, you made your point and i have understood.

But here are my two cents:
Not all Boincers can talk english. When they need support, they will find it in his/her team. And fun also (Example: Seti@Deutschland)
My team don´t worry about credits. We give support and fun to our members. Thats the main part of teams. But i am sure, there are a lot of teams they only look at credits.

Your point is well taken champ. I fully understand the need some people have to be part of the team. language barriers can be quite hard to overcome, and having the team support in place would be of a great deal of help. Please do not think I am against teams, they are of great value to some. thanks for responding to my post. have a good new year.

it has been suggested to me that all of us on 1 member teams are really wasting our time and should join a team so we can make a difference. I personnally have no intention of doing that. What do you think of the idea that all of us on 1 member teams , once a month, report our stats to a central place, so that the larger teams can see that we do make adifference. please PM me with your thoughts, good or bad.

I think ( even though this isn't in PM form ) that whoever said that is completely inaccurate.

Calm Chaos started as a two person team. We now have 60 members.

If you want to stay on a one person team, and you keep plugging away at the work units, then your contribution counts just as much as a mega teams stats.

Having the single member teams report once a month is a pretty decent idea IMO.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with being an independent. Many crunchers put up enough RAC (by themselves) to give structured teams a run for their money in the standings.

Just ask NEZ.
