There is also big ignorance on native tribal people who did not got practiced western civilization yet kept their natural realistic sense well or well kept into their natural instinctual life.

The last big tsunami in Pacific clearly showed two species of humans:

- first the majority who were city or village population plus foreign tourists become the main victims of tsunami;

- but very minor lost islander tribes certain unknown number of them recognized tsunami 5-15min prior and escaped to the higher ground and trees and unknown numbers of them saved themselves. (of course they are seemingly ugly looking plus seemingly uncivilized ;) but are far more naturally common sensed)

Good to see the Moronicae havn't sucked all optimism from you.

One recurring theme I find in discussions on humanity's descendants is people assuming the existence of "dumb" people. While I may not have the mental alacrity or knowledge of many people here, I have yet to meet anyone I'd define as "dumb" or "stupid". Now the two automatic assumptions are either I'm the dumbest person I know (which would skew my readings), which is rather unlikely, or that I haven't met enough people yet which is also highly unlikely.

I studied in India until about Grade 5, and there I was the highest performing student in my peer group for 3 years. Even when I came to this country, my test scores were generally very high (except in Algebra) compared to the rest of my class. This is offset by my inability to pass high school through the traditional route, even now I'm working through an adult education program to get my diploma. I am quite well read, however, and I pride myself on my facility with essay writing and such.

In regards to not meeting enough people, I have traveled rather extensively with my parents and alone. As I mentioned before, I studied in India for a while and traveled back to the states every 6 months or so alone for the summer and winter breaks. In my travels, I have met a wide variety of people (and children my age). Those who I had an opportunity to study always seemed to have a genuine and understandable motive for any actions they took that I disagreed with. While in high school (in the states) I generally tended to be an introverted observer, always fading into the background and watching social interaction without much interruption. Even with all that observation, specifically looking for repeated instances of stupidity, I found no pattern.

Now, while granted I'm only 18 and my experiences lead me to a conclusion in opposition to innumerable other people claiming the existence of an intellectually-inferior class, I still cannot help but feel the rumors of "dumb cattle" has been blown vastly out of proportion.

So my question is how can you claim stupid people exist? Just by the effects of actions taken by a large group of people? Can you conclusively say that people who take actions that you find silly didn't have any motivation that for them would have outweighed your concerns?

Anecdotes of patterns of stupidity would be welcome, perhaps my standards are too low.

.....yeh this is dumb, as the underclass will be doing all the work for the uperclass, driving them cooking for them, producing for them in the factorys, so they will need to be abnle to operate matinery, the uperclass would sit on their asses and eat and watch tv, play computer games, write poetry sing opera, paint,etc, well i know what one prob dosnt need legs and will be short and fat, the rich uperclass,.....

Hmm, Sounds a lot like H.G.Wells' TimeMachine SF-Novel where he simultaneously describes a Utopia as well as a Dystopia. Good libraries should still stock a copy or two of it.
Personally I am more and more convinced that a societal development as described in Walter Tevis's Mockingbird will eventually take place. Not wanting to seem overly cranky, but American society presently shows all the signs of it.
