I need to remove some old computers which i' not running boinc on anymore, could someone please tell me how to do this.

Once all the results for a host have been validated and cleared, there is an option to remove (delete) the host. It cannot be done until all results have been cleared.

When viewing the computers in your account, click on the computer ID that you'd like to remove. The option should be at the bottom of the page.
