All my systems have the same settings - A cache of 5 days.

Unfortunately, the 2 linux boxes have only had 2 wu's at a time.

Is this down to the o/s or boinc/s@h?

I'd say it has more to do with the hosts being new and the RDCF hasn't adjusted enough yet. Give it some more time and they should do better.

It is also possible it is caused by EDF. If you have work that may miss deadline based on current estimates, BOINC will not download any work from the project with trouble, and will not add any work over the minimum queue even from other projects.

My Linux boxes are doing the same thing there only holding a cache of about 2 to 6 work units. Yet my windows boxes are holding a nice cache for a few days. I guess they'll work them selves out in time.

Are they all running the same version of BOINC? Remember that 5.10.x clients and above pay attention to the "cache additional days" setting, but previous versions do not.

Sorry for the delay in replying DJ, It's been hectic here at the moment.

All Windows boxes have 5.10.20 & Linux boxes 5.8.16.

That explains it. Set the "Connect to network every x days" to 5 days. Set the "cache additional" setting to zero. The versions should behave more similar with these settings.

An alternative is to set up one of the named venues to run decoupled for the Win boxes and another one to run in cache coupled mode for the Linux ones.

Keep in mind if you use the named venues, there's a bug in the web interface for the current server side builds for the battery and in use global prefs (basically totally broken), but you can override that with the local preference, or a global_prefs_overide file (for 5.8.16).
