I'd like the ability to select which tasks to complete but not start any more, or do some context save which stores my partial results on the internet that I can resume later from another machine. I install boinc on hard drives that get re-imaged every three days and don't want that messing up my statistics due to uncompleted tasks.

Along those lines, I'd also like the ability to resume or resart tasks that I'm currently waiting on from a different computer.

You already have the ability to work on the tasks you currently have without downloading more. In the advanced tab, select No New Work or No New Tasks (depending on the version). This is available on the projects tab of the advanced view after you have selected a project.

There are two different ways to save the work when re-imaging.

1) Have the BOINC install on a network share (different share for each machine). After each re-image, re-install BOINC to that network share.

2) Shut down BOINC. Save the entire BOINC directory to some external location (thumb, CD, Network Share, ...). REIMAGE. Restore the entire BOINC directory from the external location. Re-install the same or later version of BOINC.
