I wonder all these versions nobody cared for the tray icon?
Normally when you want to show/hide a tray icon on Windows XP you can change the behaviour of the icon you want e.g. Always hide.
But on every restart of windows or Boinc itself the icon reappears and thats because it does not have a name like all the other tray icons.
So windows forget every time.
Please add a name to tray icon so it remains hidden.

I agree... There have been many posts about installing BOINC as a service and other workarounds, but the point is that this is an error and should be fixed.

Right, showing graphics does eat CPU but users should have the choice of how they want to install and run the program. Workarounds are fine but steps should be taken to make the program work CORRECTLY.
