Is there any way to change the Communication Deferred times on Boinc? For some projects with limited work, such as LHC, extended deferral times can easily cause you to miss work releases.

I don't want to be pinging the server every 10 minutes but, I also don't want to get an automatic 2+ day communcation deferral.

Thank you,

Generally speaking no, not without building your own version of the CC.

Do you have a message tab snippet (or a synopsis) of the events leading up to the multi-day comm deferral? I'm curious, since the longest default deferral comes about when a project is completely 'dead' and the master file fetch fails several times in a row. This used to result in a seven day comm deferral, but that was changed quite awhile back to 1 day.
