It appears that the site created an additional account for my one and only computer on September 12th. Existing computer id is 128922, new computer id created is 175030. Sorry if I missed something, this hit me by surprise so I thought maybe others should check too? Any help appreciated. Thanks. |

Did anyone else have a new account created for an unknown reason on Sept 12th? A few replies for both yes and no would be appreciated. To check your accounts, start here http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/ click on "Your Account" under "Account Statistics" click the view link for "Computers" click on the computer id number to see the creation date. Thanks in advance. |

It happens when you detach and reattach sometimes. You can merge the old one with the new one. Go to your account page. Select your computers "View". Then select your old computer. Then on the new page at the bottom it says merge. When you click it it will show you other computers that may be duplicates. If they look like a match click the box. Then I think it will merge the two. I'm not sure if it works when you have credit on both computers. Good Luck. |

Thanks StokeyBob. I'll try merging. I am just concerned because I didn't detach and reattach myself, and it seems this occured about the same time as the scheduling server crash. So I'm concerned that it may have been a system glitch that could have affected others. I'll let you know if the merge works. Mahalo (Hawaiian for thank you) |

Oh well. They merged, but by clicking on the old computer, it ended up merging it into the new account number. It didn't ask for a confirmation, maybe that feature can be added in the future? So the original creation date is now 4 years older than actual. I'll see if the site can correct that later, right now they have their hands full me thinks. Thanks again. |

I think it always gives you the new number. I sort of wish it would keep the original. I think I started out with a 5 digit number. |
