I was just checking my account and have discovered 2 new computers 493361 on it that I did not put there. Also there are WUs assigned to those computers??? Don't know what's going on, but something is screwed up! Please help. I have to be away from the computer for a while, will check for replies in a few.
I demand a refund. Oh wait, I didn't pay to join,

It looks like they're all instances of the same computer and can be merged if you wish.

I'm not really sure what causes this. Perhaps someone else who understands this portion of BOINC better than I can explain it to the both of us.

If we had a clear idea of why new hosts were created, we would fix the code so that it would not happen (with the exception of a machine upgrade).

It's been a long time since I have set up the account, but it takes some interaction to put a new host on it, right? Another thing I noticed was that the wu I just uploaded is marked as being returned on Sep 19th. Today is the 18th I'm pretty sure. Do you think maybe someone has breached my account?

Not necessarily. I had one system running flat out for SETI@Home and Bittorrent (no user interaction at all) and at one point it kept generating new Host IDs constantly until I removed Bittorrent.

Nope. If you look closely, times are reported in UTC or otherwise known as Coordinated Universal Time. According to UTC, it is already the 19th.

Those two new computers where added on Sept 16. Looking at you returned work units for that day I see this for all of them:

<core_client_version>5.10.20</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>
CreateProcess() failed - The system cannot find the file specified. (0x2)
</message>
]]>

So it looks like you where having some type of system problem on that day.
