I'll stick with 5.9.0.64 that was compiled by Crunch3r. :D

Do any of the recent versions affect the speed by which a WU is crunched. My assumption is no since the SETI application does the actual crunching but, hey, I have to ask.

All I know is that 5.10.13 was making errors and 5.9.0.64 wasn't so back I went. When Crunch3r makes a 5.10.x version of His Boinc files I'll try that and see If It works or not, Until then I'm staying put at 5.9.0.64 until further notice.

I guess You could say I like Crunchy Chicken. ;)

I'm running older versions but not antique ones.

I was just curious if there's an advantage (other than WU's not needed being purged) to any of the newer versions.

Unless the CC is fatally flawed and causes the app to crap out or malfunction, it should have no effect on performance other than the time it needs to execute its functions.

I run 5.9.0.64 as It does things for Me as I'm a disabled person, Besides It keeps My anxiety down. I at least tried the newer versions, They aren't for Me and so for the foreseeable future this is what I'll use everywhere.

When I switched to 5.10.20 a while back it solved my "no work" problem. I now have tons of workunits from Seti. The new BOINC client has worked flawlessly on both my computers.

5.10.20 for Windows reports the wrong local time on my PC 2604528.
It says UTC+1, but here in Germany we have UTC+2 (CEST).
Is that a bug? Should I stop the client?

Why should I upgrade from 5.10.13 to 5.10.20 ??
There's no changelog other than for 5.10 in general!

Edit\\ Why am I crunching WU's with a deadline in December - when I have a bunch of WU's due in September?
Is that a 'future' that has been changes in the new BOINC-client?

Edit2\\ Thx for the link Keith

BOINC Change Log is here.

I'm currently running 5.10.7 on my Win XP host, 5.8.15 on Win 98.

I have downloaded 5.10.20 but not installed yet. Only just changed SETI app to KWSN 2.4 GFX version, so I don't want to change too many things at once.

I just installed the new version and it works well. However, it reports the wrong time zone (it reports UTC+1 but due to DST it should actually be UTC+2).
However, I think this is a minor bug and I can't imagine that is has any adverse effects on SETI.

Last nigth i upgraded from 5.10.13 to 5.10.20 (recomended).

Since that i have a problem... The completed WU's are uploaded correctly, but don't reported automatically as with the 5.10.13. The WU's are stay in 'ready to report' until I press manually the 'update' button.

In the message tab only appears the correct uploading messages:

But dont appear the typical message 'Sending scheduler request reporting N tasks'...

I don't changed nothing in my local preferences and with 5.10.13 all was working without the need of press update button manually for report...

Anybody knows why...?

Logan.

They have changed to report rules . It is in the changelogs a couple of posts down. It can now take up to a day before a result is reported.
