I have read on CPDN that 5.10.13 has fixed the NTLM Proxy issue, and people are starting to go back to CPDN now because CPDN has to have version 5.x or higher.
I want to know if this true (I do not use it). If so, we can get a LOT of people off 4.x and start claiming the correct credit.
So who's brave enough to try and report to us? If it doesn't work, you can always go back.
I know there are a lot of people who'd like to see progress on this front.

I was looking into this earlier and saw a couple of active tickets regarding it on the BOINC Trac, one with a 5.10 client.
So it looks like there may still be some issues with it in BOINC.
One thing which isn't clear is that typically an NTLM proxy is a corporate thing, so just the fact that BOINC is suppose to work and it doesn't might be trying to tell the participant something about policy.

I've downloaded the alpha 5.10.20 and tried it behind a NTLM Proxy (with authenticaion). For S@H, it is still not able to communicate correctly with the proxy.
Unfortunately, that means 4.x remains the only solution for the time being.

Out of curiosity, did you try with other projects?

I'm afraid not. S@H is my only project.

Thanks Ralf !, Could you tell us a few things in case we run across others with your situation? (no need for anything you may feel to be sensitive information )
- Which Windows version do you run?
- Which Proxy ? (NTLM? and which version?)
- Some information regarding your network setup like why a [NTLM?] proxy is needed [ Rather than, or in addition to, say, a router, or reconfiguring a router (I am aware some people cannot do this on business networks, does that apply to you?) ] , and if you have other network hardware or software involved?
- Any special settings in the network or boinc?
Glad to hear you got things working with the newer version, you'll be claiming better credits now!, happy crunching :D

Thanks for the info, Sounds a little similar to an old wingate type setup that used to be run at a small business I used to work at, so I can understand the needs for such an environment.
