Have 2 projects running on my p4 1.8, resource set to 200 CPDN 100 Seti@H, so that makes them change at 2hrs for CPDN and 1hr for Seti@H and it leaves WUWU in memory... On the P4 3.0 have 3 projects running, 200 for CPDN 100 for Seti@h and 100 for Pirates@h, Pirates has no work so it keeps trying to get some, ok... The system runs 1hr for CPDN and 1hr for Seti@H and does not keep the WUWU in memory, both boxes use the same setting... Is this normal........?????? What is pirates@home? As far as I know, the only BOINC projects that are approved are : 1. Climatepredict 2. Seti@home / classic 3. LHC - which is set to be reactivated in a couple of weeks 4. Predict - Also inactive while they upgrade There's also Folding@home, but to my knowledge this project is not part of the BOINC family of projects. Then there's Astropulse, and Genome@home but I think these have been discontinued. Are there other distributed computing projects that I'm missing - that are available to the general public? Lex |

Even though you get no work, are you getting prefs from there? It could be the prefs there are set to NOT keep the app in memory. This would explain the different behavior. Try changing your seti general prefs (something minor), and then force an update from each client, and see if things get better! Watch the log and see where general prefs are coming from.. Just a thought |

Well something is going on I just checked CPDN setting and leave in memory was not checked but this morning it was, plus my keep days supply had changed yesterday to 3 to 1 days, some thing is wrong...... Well Boinc just preempted CPDN finally after 3 hrs and Seti@H is crunching and CPDN is still in memory, I guess it just takes time to unconfuse it self lololololol. |

EDIT EDIT It appears that BOINC has lost the capacity to use resource share if you do more that 2 projects.... Both my boxes were crunching 2 and 1 hr as per preference setting, I added another project and BOINC will not crunch a project for more than an hr, no matter what share you give it....... My name is Pascal and this message has my approval... It is 10 oclock, do you know what your WUWUs are doing tonight... |
