BOINC Manager/Advanced/Preferences/Network Usage/Day-Of-Week Over-Ride is ignored, anything entered clears on choosing the OK button. This was first noticed when the settings for Tuesday to avoid regular outage was wiped off on upgrade from BOINC Manager 5.10.17 to 5.10.18. The over-ride had been working perfectly well before this, ironically having to be entered as 22:00-17:00 because it expected the stop time first and start time last!!! Would be very appreciated if this useful preference could be restored. Keith |

Has nobody else found this problem? Or is it just on my set up? Keith |

Has nobody else found this problem? O.K. I wondered if this board is for what I want (i.e. preferences) and maybe that's why nobody responded. But no, I have posted to the correct board. There's just no reply from anyone. Seems strange, but that's that. Keith |

It has been awhile since I have looked at the BOINC client preferences, I did not know that was there. Just played around with it briefly. I using Windows CC 5.10.13, and it does not appear to be working. Maybe this should be posted on the BOINC forums, Since likely it is a client issue and not a project one. My computer is trying to download a Rosetta WU, and the restrictions seemed to be being ignored. You need a second life? Seconlife.com |

BRILLIANT!!!!! In BOINC Manager 5.10.21, this is working again. Haven't seen any other changes, but it's well worth updating for this alone!! Just set Tuesday to "22:00-17:00" and your network will be suspended during the weekly SETI maintenance outage. (This is available at Advanced/Preferences... in BOINC Manager menubar, and I assume it is also available to Windows as 5.10.21 is also updated there on the same date.) As I said before, the "reversed" times looks strange but it works. This is because the second is OFF time and the first is ON time. Well done to the programmers in tidying up this anomaly (even though, distracted with other problems, it took some time). Keith |
