Ok I run Desktop LX

I run the bionic I just downloaded and I get this:

error while loading shared lintaties: libgcc_s.so.1: cannot load shared object file: no such file or directory.

The seti Classic runs fine but not the bionic.

If there is commands I need to throw to get this working it would be great if you could list them as I know very little about linux..

But so far I'm liking linux alot better then Winblowz. I just dont know the commands..

It looks to me like you need to install libgcc.
So install it and try to run boinc again.

Turns out doing this is a bad idea you get errors when it tries to compute the data!

Just copy the lib to /usr/lib and run ./boinc_3.18_i686-pc-linux-gnu - nothing fancy like below...

So do NOT do the following!

I had a similiar issue when I tried to run the binary - it could not find libgcc_s.so.1

Like a few others here is found libgcc_s.so.1 in the open office directory. So I copied it into my boinc directory and I use LD_LIBRARY_PATH=. ./boinc_3.18_i686-pc-linux-gnu to run and it seems to run.

I //still// have redhat-7.1 running on my P90.

When i try and 'find / -name libgcc* 2> /dev/null', i only come up with .a files and .map files, not .so files, so i'll have to install like you say.

Since it appears that libgcc is not available from rpmfind.net for redhat 7.1, only 8 or newer, that i'm stuck updating my version of linux on that box. oh well, i guess it's about time any way.
