I can't get any new work. All the screensaver says is "BOINC is currently idle" for the last 2 days. I have updated, shut off the computer and basically tried everything. What can I do?

I just checked your systems and both seem to have downloaded work as of today (Aug 13). Has the problem been resolved?

Nothing yet. Both computers are still idle.

Still not getting the screensaver to work. It looks like I am getting some small bits of work, like 19 credits at a time.

Due to server problems there is very little work available. There are lists of other BOINC projects that you can attach to in addition to S@H here, here, and here among other places.

Thanks, seems like S@H is always having problems. I have another problem now. My Second computer (The one with XP) now says "BOINC Manager is not currently connected to a BOINC client" What do I do?

First the basics. BOINC Manager attaches to the BOINC Daemon through port 31416 on the local host (or LAN for remote control). If you have recently installed or upgraded a personal firewall (or installed SP2 of XP which enables the XP firewall) you have to open the port and allow BOINC.exe (the daemon) through. If you have not installed a personal firewall, have you installed any new software? Can you check to see if BOINC.exe is running through task manager?

It shows running through the Task Manager, but still no screen saver. No new updates. I have had SP2 on XP for a long time.
