have restarted after 3-year break; unfortunately, I do not understand the instructions to add my browser to the
code. Can anyone, someone give me a clue?

I assume you mean assigning a browser to BOINC Manager so that links to the project and your account can open from within it.

In XP, you should be able to assign a browser by clicking on START>Set Program Access and Defaults...
