I'm showing two seti@home applications, each with a slightly different name. At first I only had one, but then I installed seti@home-mapview and now I've got this second application. Is it common to have 2 seti projects?

Is it two applications similar to setiathome 4.03?

or is it two WUs with numbers similar to 05my04aa.1496.3538.848566.48_4?

Or is it both?

having 2 or more WUs on your machine is indeed common. They may have different versions of the project application as well. This will happen when the project application code changes, and there is a new version released.

If you have a HyperThreading CPU or dual CPUs, there will also be 2 setiathome programs running. (if you have your preferences set up right). Please give more details. Where are you seeing the 2 programs, how much CPU power are they taking up, what are the exact names of the programs, what CPU do you have?

Hmmmmm.... I just checked and I have 2 copies of "setiathome_4.03_windows_intelx86.exe" running concurrently as well. I guess that's the norm.... I'm running an HP P4 at 2.8 Ghz. Makes sense since 2 WUs are being worked on simultaniously.

Yes, I see now. Both seti projects are being worked on. It was just strange, seeing 2 applications under the work tab, each having a slightly different name:

* 05my04aa.7961.17793.261062.17_0
* 05my04aa.7961.21250.392322.115_1

I'm running a single p4 1.5.

The one that are under the work tab are called work units. The software that makes it crunching is called the application linked to the project. In case of S@H, the actual application has version 4.03.
