Is it possible to add this to the boinc_cli running as a windows service?

I'm trying to run BoincView, but I'm not able to
force a manual update to the clients running the service
as I'm not able to add -allow_remote_gui_rpc to the cli
when it starts..

The field where the path to the file (i.e. something
like "C:BOINCboinc_cli.exe -windows_service") is greyed out

Any help appreciated
/Henrik

Edit: Nevermind, it started working all of a sudden.. Thanks anyway..

BOINC 4 has the file remote_hosts.cfg with a list of hostsnames which can access the client. It's more secure than allow_remote_gui_rpc. Look at http://boinc.berkeley.edu/gui_rpc_control.php for more infos. :)

Use FireDaemon - it make it real easy for you to set up.

Awesome! I'll have to look into modifying that since I was bummed over the exact same thing (except mine didn't mysteriously start working =P).

I read about it at BoincView's homepage and read about -allow_remote_gui_rpc
and thought you had to add both the -allow_re... and the remote_hosts.cfg
but as it turned out, the cfg was all that was needed, and that's the way it's
running now..

The -allow_remote_gui_rpc switch allows a RPC from anywhere. By defining hosts in the remote_hosts.cfg file you can limit it to just those computers.
