hmm.. political. I suppose I will stay off the economic predictions then.

1. In the next 2 or 3 presidential elections, the USA will elect either a minority or a woman as president.

2. The Republicans lose the White House in '08, as well as losing ground in both chambers of Congress (becoming even further from the majority in those chambers than they already are).

3. Even after '08, and Dubya leaves the White House, the USA will continue to become even further estranged from the rest of the world, no matter who his successor is.

4. Political discourse in the USA will continue to be bogged down in all sorts of issues of lesser importance to the nation as a whole and to the world, and will do nothing substantive about the issues of far greater importance.

And no, nothing in #1 should be construed as meaning I am against a woman or minority being President. I think it is about time we had one (or more). And yes, I realize that #3 and #4 are somewhat pessimistic. I've found that pessimists are correct more often than optimists.

Odd that I started predicting all of this 5 years ago... Nobody listened to me then either... Maybe if I had rank or held a title, [rolls eyes]...
