motivated by a desire to make a political change in a government, then they are a terrorist. No where does that statement promote murder or the use of fear as a means of coercion. |

Gang members ARE NOT terrorists. They ARE NOT trying to sway public opinion and they ARE NOT trying to influence the government. They are simply lazy-ass dopeheads trying to get high and make a buck without having to work for it. Been a while, but I "think" this is the link I posted before: http://youtube.com/watch?v=RRVH7KbmYx0 |

You guys will have to excuse my absence.....for some strange reason, after 25 posts, I suddenly didn't have enough RAC to participate on the forum . Must have been one of those "glitches" we keep hearing about, huh? |

The difference, of course, being that the federal government played no role what so ever in sending a category 5 hurricane into New Orleans or preventing those who CHOSE to remain, with a 4-day advanced warning when our governor declared a state of emergency, from leaving Or maybe you just wanted the feds to march troops into N.O. and take those people from their homes and force them to leave the city.... which is more like the former Eastern Bloc |

Hate to be at odds with you on this one, but most of our drugs come through Mexico, not the middle east.....and while I'll admit many of those drug lords are probably using terrorist tactics to achieve their goals, Mexico really isn't a threat to the existence of responsible Americans....I don't have a drug problem, I'm not competing for minimum wage jobs, my contact with them is extremely limited. |

True, yes, the federal gov didn't send the hurricane. And I wouldn't support the idea of taking people from their homes against their will. We're talking about people that are choosing to stay behind despite the warnings that were given. Fleeing from a storm of that size isn't as easy as it's made to sound like. Many people wouldn't have anywhere else to go. Or if they did not have the money to. But then if the gov didn't have a responsibility to conduct a rescue and recovery effort, why did they have plans for it? They did, only those plans were too little too late, and poorly executed. That's the fiasco part I was referring to. But the authorities still don't have the right to force the press to not take pictures. Now all that aside. I still don't agree that the weapons of citizens should be seized because the authorities may "fear" looting, or vigilantes. This was something MajorKong in a pervious post indicated as being logical under the circumstances. |

It is illegal for the President to march troops into any state without the permission of that's state's governor.....and while you were busy pointing fingers at the feds, you failed to notice the Governor Blanco waited four days before turning the situation over to the federal government. Eight entire days between the time she declared a state of emergency and when she actually allowed federal troops into the area. Try to keep in mind that I live in Louisiana before you try to tell ME how the events unfolded. I think there is plenty of blame to go around, but NONE of it belongs to the federal govt. |

I know that you live in Louisiana. I'm sure you probly know more details about what happened durring Katrina. Since you think I don't have the right to discuss with you how events unfolded, fine, have it your way. But there were federal responsibilities as well. And President Bush even accepted responsibility for the federal failures in the Katrina mess. |

there is plenty of blame to go around, but NONE of it belongs to the federal govt. Is FEMA not part of the federal government? 'Federal Emergency Management Agency'... They needed help, not troops... ;) It may not be 1984 but George Orwell sure did see the future . . . |

there is plenty of blame to go around, but NONE of it belongs to the federal govt. And where is FEMA going to get the manpower to do much in the way of 'help' in the immediate aftermath if not from National Guard troops? You know... the 'little things' like Transportation and Distribution of vital supplies... Evacuation of survivors.... Assisting civilian law enforcement in maintaining civil order... FEMA is primarily a 'command and control' agency. They don't have all that much manpower of their own. |

And where is FEMA going to get the manpower FEMA could recruit some folks from the FEMPA team: 'Federal Excuse Management and Propaganda Agency'... ;) It may not be 1984 but George Orwell sure did see the future . . . |

And where is FEMA going to get the manpower I thought that FEMA did stand for 'Federal Excuse Management Agency'. :P https://youtu.be/iY57ErBkFFE #Texit Don't blame me, I voted for Johnson(L) in 2016. Truth is dangerous... especially when it challenges those in power. |

Offering an apology to the ignorant masses pointing their fingers at the President doesn't give him a legal right to take control of the situation away from our Governor without her permission. What if that stupid ***** ordered the national guard to attack the invading army? That story doesn't and never did hold any water because it's a double edged sword. The only way the President could have intervened is by breaking the law and no one is foolish enough to think you'd support that either. |

there is plenty of blame to go around, but NONE of it belongs to the federal govt. FEMA & the feds have given our state 6.2 billions dollars. Funny how the buck stops at the Governor again, huh? |

Must have been one of those "glitches" we keep hearing about, huh? And silence was the solution... So exactly why DO you hate America? |
