I see the unity08 banner with IE7. It took a couple edits to get the unity08 url fixed though. should I try a different one?

I tend to not stray far from the NC boards of many projects. I saw the unity08 piece on my Favorite channel (Fox News). Seems to take a more middle of the road approach. One which seems to want to "get things done", rather than chat about it, spend more money, and in the end, get nothing done. Which seems to be the way of both the left and right at the present time.

I don't know where I stand on this Unity08 'party'. While I believe that the solution to the USA's problems lie in neither the Republican nor the Democrat party, I am not sure this party would be of any help.

From what I gather on their website, boiled down into one sentence, their political philosophy is:

'Just get our party into power, and you can tell us what to 'believe in/stand for'.

I am reminded of former President Clinton. He was said to 'govern by the polls'. Fairly or not, he was often depicted as sticking a damp finger up in the air to see which way the wind was blowing.

That sort of politician/political candidate/political party I can not and will not ever support. After all, I left the Republican Party over 20 years ago because they started abandoning their principles.

I vote in every election that I am able to (Federal, State, and Local). I missed the Presidential Election of 1992, because the Voter Registrar of the county that I moved into (in plenty of time before the election -- months) pulled shenanigans. They were a Democrat, and I had moved into a precinct that had a Republican majority in the last several elections. They 'lost' my application to transfer my Registration to my new address... Several times. I finally got my Voter Registration Card a few days after the election. It was postmarked the day AFTER the election. I am sick of the two party system in this country.

As I said, I vote in every election that I am able to. I always do the best job I can do to determine exactly what each candidate's political philosophy is, and vote for the one that best matches, in my opinion, my own. Did I mention that I am sick of the two party system? Not enough choices. They are both too similar to each other. And since this Unity08 party claims to be mainly people from both of the 2 major parties, I am not sure they will be all that different either.

Either the Unity08 party is going to have to tell me exactly what they stand for on a wide range of, to use their term, the Crucial Issues, or name some candidates so I can research THEM, or I will not ever consider even going near them. After all, I will not buy a box of stuff at a store without knowing at least what is supposed to be in it.

Some of you might have guessed that my political philosophy tends towards one of the extremes of the political spectrum rather than the middle. It does. But then, as one of my grandfathers used to tell me, "There is nothing in the middle of the road except yellow stripes and roadkill." He was a very wise man and a WWI vet. He taught me a LOT about the way the world works. He had another saying that perhaps is more appropriate in this instance. "Never look a gift horse in the mouth, but ALWAYS do so before you buy one!"

I think at this point they're looking for people to get involved so we can all choose who we want. That's what I got from the video anyhow.

I emailed Moore but no reply on it yet. Figured I could gauge UNITY08 and Moore all in one email.
