Message 613798 - Posted: 3 Aug 2007, 1:35:54 UTC - in response to Message 613545.

Are you a biggot, BrainSmashR?

.

I have already got an idea of the answer. But I'm polite enough to not post it.

Don't worry. I have spent most of my life being pushed around, mistreated, ignored and looked down upon.

It hardly affects me anymore.

Never surrender and never give up. In the darkest hour there is always hope.

Would it make my opinions or the facts I produce any less valid or is it just an excuse for you to start discriminating in typical leftist fashion?

Ahhhh yes, you found it offensive that they catered to THEIR audience just like I stated. Notice there was nothing said about a lack of objectivity or not covering the issues, or outright Dan Rather type lies.....you just disagreed with their pro-Bush stance.

They can cater to their audience all they want. My point is that I just don't/didn't agree with the biased way that they report/present the news. Whether it's Iraq or global warming or whatever.

Actually you didn't say anything about scientific issues like global warming, which leaves considerably less room for debate than politics.

That tip in their favor was destroyed when 99.9999% of those elected to Congress lied about their intentions.

You forget that people continue to vote for political parties that lie to them over and over. I was fooled once, but it was the last time. Unfortunatley, some people never learn.

Obviously I think that more a sign of political intelligence than anything else. Voting for the party instead of the candidate is just stupid.

You know, it wasn't an accident that the Rep's ruled congress for the last 12 years, and it won't be a mistake when we take Congress...

So, you're happy with the neocon people that said we needed a new "Pearl Harbor" event bring about change.

Actually I've never read that quote but I can guess with a 99.9999% chance of being correct that if YOU can produce a reliable source, it will indicate those are the words of one man, not the entire GOP.

Message 613832 - Posted: 3 Aug 2007, 2:53:38 UTC - in response to Message 613795.

So if I am a foreigner (in this case non US) I am the following:

1. Uninformed
2. Ignorant
3. A political idiot
4. My opinion in matters in this world counts for less than 2 cents.

That sounds like propaganda.

If I was trying to sway your op[inion, then it would be, but since your ignorant to the true meaning of the term, you will continue to misuse it. BTW, as a non-us citizen who does not have a vote in this country, your opinion of our actions regardless of when and where they take palce IS irrelavent....and again, your lack of understanding in this matter IS another sign of your political ignorance.

When the actions of your country or your people or your citizens affects my country in anyway, anywhere, I have every right to voice my opinion and be involved. Just as you would do if anyone or any country affected yours.

No one said you didn't have the right to voice your opinions, I said they didn't matter.

The US has a habit of telling others what they should and should not do. But when someone else tells them what they should do the US tell them to butt out. Why should the US be allowed to do something that it won't let others do?

Might makes right, it's the American way.

But then I know for a fact that Australia is not important to the US.

Oh. And all news sources are biased to some degree. They cater for their target audience and to the benefit of a small group of individuals (the guys running the media outlet, certain industries, pollies etc). That is why there is always conflicting stories about what happens and it can take a long time for the real truth to be found.

Gee, you think that's why I DID NOT say I hate any news agency?

This was a statement of fact for everyone, not just you. Especially since this thread is about propaganda (which includes distorting the facts for someone's gain or benefit).

But don't listen to me. I know nothing. I'm just a foreigner (unless you are in Australia, in which case you are the foreigner).

Well I know your reading comprehension skills certainly need improving and that certainly is indicative of your knowledge level.....

??? You might be surprised by what I know and understand. But your perception is tainted.

It's not MY perception that's tainted, buddy, I'm American, I live here, not you.

Whether or not you guys understand this or not is irrelavent, but life is a competition. There are a limited number of resources on this planet and although I have no interest in seeing you die, but I DO have an extremely strong desire to see my family members survive. If that puts our countries at odds on the battlefield then I certainly wish you the best of luck, but you'll be fighting the strongest military force the Earth has ever seen because of HOW we live, not because of how you think we should live.

Of course, because not hurting someones feelings is better than being honest about yours, right...

You know, the reason they use left and right is to indicate opposites?

It's a label, you choose to discriminate or "take it easy on me" if you will, and that's what divides us.

Let me give you an example....say my name is Trent Lott and I praise one of the oldest men to have ever served in congress. No big deal until the leftist propaganda machine says I'm racist because Thurman is SOOOOO FREAKING OLD that he was in politics during and prior to the civil rights movement and shared an opposing viewpoint.

Actually, I don't think you care at all about me or my family or my country.

If the US wanted Australia, you would support taking it by force it seems and would not think twice about those that would suffer, as long as they were not yours.

Just tell the world that Australia is in the axis of evil and it is all good. After all, our prime minister is thinking about nuclear technology development here for power. And it has been said that we have 40% of the world's uranium supplies still in the ground. Can't let anyone else have it can we?

And I'll leave it at that. There is more that could be said, but as you say, you are not interested in anyone's opinion who does not agree with you. And I don't want to hurt your feelings.

Never surrender and never give up. In the darkest hour there is always hope.

Race, gender, religious or political beliefs don't keep me from seeing a person as a human being. I would gladly stand next to you to fight for a common cause, but not simply because of the cause. You see, they've broken down the human Deoxyribonucleic acid sequence and we are all a part of the same family tree. Right down to worms and bananas. I knew this long before sequencing began. One planet. All related.

I know you may hate the thought, but your my cousin, and I'm brown. European and Polynesian mix, but all American for generations. I don't make, or support walls. I don't see you as far right. Your just another guy on our mutual planet, but with walls all around you. All built by you.

The day may come, and soon, when the world sees America as a world wide threat. Should this happen we may recall the folly and fall of the roman empire. We aren't as tough as we think. Should the world deny us the ability to trade we would be in it deep.

All one people. One planet.

Wasn't aimed at you.

And I'm well aware that we are all related somewhere (works both for science and religion). But today there are still those that believe that if you are different (in any aspect), then you are not equal or are not deserving of the same status/treatment/respect.

I too have European/English heritage. My father was from the UK (and his family). And somewhere along the tree in my mother's side there is said to be a convict.

I know Gavin,

That was in response to BrainsmashR's post.

I always forget to hit the "reply to this post" hypertext.

Sorry about that.

I wouldn't worry to much about having a convict in your family tree. Odds are we all do.

No problem.

Just wanted to make sure you didn't think I was having a go at you.

Not worried about the convict heritage, just thought you might be interested.

LAUGH, I ask you for a source and you link to a 90 page document without so much as offering a chapter for reference.

Nice try buddy, but we still both know you're a liar, now if you care to indicate where the quote is located, I'll tell exactly who said it, but OBVIOUSLY you don't want that to happen.

Actually, I don't think you care at all about me or my family or my country.

I DID NOT say I care about you OR your family. I said I have no desire to see you die.....just like having no desire to see cattle slaughtered doesn't mean I'm about to stop eating beef.

If the US wanted Australia, you would support taking it by force it seems and would not think twice about those that would suffer, as long as they were not yours.

No body I know/love/care about is going to suffer. You and yours will.

Just tell the world that Australia is in the axis of evil and it is all good. After all, our prime minister is thinking about nuclear technology development here for power. And it has been said that we have 40% of the world's uranium supplies still in the ground. Can't let anyone else have it can we?

LAF....like anyone believes you could be a worth while contributor to any modern society. However, if you wish t make yourself a target....go right ahead and see how insignificant you are for yourself.

And I'll leave it at that. There is more that could be said, but as you say, you are not interested in anyone's opinion who does not agree with you. And I don't want to hurt your feelings.

I did not say I wasn't interested in your opinions (although I am not) I said they didn't matter.

That's twice in this post alone you intentionally and with full knowledge of your action, chose to misquote me....either that or you're too stupid to understand English and to lazy to reference my post while writing your response....why would anyone care what you "think".

Being a fellow human being DOES NOT make you "my brother"....yet another glaringly obvious fundamental difference in the left and the right.

I know you may hate the thought, but your my cousin, and I'm brown. European and Polynesian mix, but all American for generations. I don't make, or support walls. I don't see you as far right. Your just another guy on our mutual planet, but with walls all around you. All built by you.

You are not related to me in any way, shape, or form, but it's nice to see you put the white man on a pedestal as something to emulate.

The day may come, and soon, when the world sees America as a world wide threat. Should this happen we may recall the folly and fall of the roman empire. We aren't as tough as we think. Should the world deny us the ability to trade we would be in it deep.

You've spent to much time listening to third world propaganda. We ARE that strong and while I agree that we would suffer without the rest of the world, it would by no means be the end of our country or government.

All one people. One planet.

.

You keep telling yourself that too....it won't make it come true, but it gives me and the other government employees a good laugh.
