Ok, MrGray, I will start this one off.

In my opinion, the PATRIOT Act is one of the worst pieces of legislation that the US Govt. has ever passed. I believe that only the DMCA ranks up there anywhere close to it.

The insults to the freedom of American citizens contained in the PATRIOT act are grave indeed. Especially those in Title II. The entirety of Title II is morally and ethically repugnant to a free society.

Discussion?

I'll be reading it today and will try my best to itemize points.

Thank you, Sir.

Can someone please point me to which part is the Glossary of that document ?

[ Got them. Definitions are spread throughout unlike Australian Laws. Next I'll be looking for "Objects of the Act".... :P]

Oh my, this is bad, section 2 would seem to me to undermine legal precedent.

He chose the name because he sees how easy it is to get the Sheeple to line up. Come on...If you are a Patriot you would do what ever he asked right? If you question him doesn't that make you bad? And the Sheeple fell right in line....

UNITING AND STRENGTHENING AMERICA BY PROVIDING APPROPRIATE TOOLS REQUIRED TO INTERCEPT AND OBSTRUCT TERRORISM

Anyone else find it a little odd that the word 'money' is used exactly 129 times in this document... ;)

I am hoping the the courts eventually (sooner rather than later) throw the entire thing out on Constitutional grounds.

2 Patriot Act provisions ruled unlawful

By WILLIAM McCALL, Associated Press Writer 5 minutes ago

PORTLAND, Ore. - Two provisions of the USA Patriot Act are unconstitutional because they allow search warrants to be issued without a showing of probable cause, a federal judge ruled Wednesday.
