I've just started running the new BIONIC client in the office, but am having problems with the same pc's being recognised.

Each pc seems to be getting registered for each user, even though they are the same machine. If I merge the computers, then the next time the user logs on BIONIC creates another (identical) machine account... is this a bug (there all running under my BIONIC user id) or is this supposed to be happening?

Cheers and happy crunching,

Ian.

P.S. were workgrouped and not domained.

A little better insight in how you installed the client would be nice. We weren't there looking over your shoulder when you installed the client, see? ;)

I take it there are two users on one PC?
I take it that you installed the client twice? Once for each user in the harddrive space appointed to that user?

Or did you install the client as the administrator on that PC and gave it one folder, one place on the harddrive, yet for all users to use?

Sorry... :'(

I just installed it under my username (as Admin, with one folder to use for all) intending it to run as the same user under all people. Everyone using that machine has admin rights so all should have access to the relevent files.

Installed as normal and added my details (i.e. project directory and account id) which it uses all the time, whoever is logged in, but registers as a new pc...

It sounds like a permission issue. Possibly shareing the BOINC folder with full write access will fix it.
