The aliens arrived and walked amongst us. People felt worried, fearful, as they said nothing. “What were they doing here? What do the want? Why don’t they speak?” As the silent visitors walked by a book was found. Translators worked hard and everyone breathed a sigh of relief as the title was found the say “To Serve Man”.

The translators carried on as the alien characters defeated them. But soon their dismay spread to everybody. “To Serve Man” was a cookbook

I wouldn't be surprised if it was. I read it on the box of a kiddies wind-up robot today. I thought it was rather good.

A Classic Episode!

Twilight Zone - To Serve Man

Good episode!

"On Earth, it would be 12 noon." Great line, though they probably should've added "somewhere" to the end of that line!

On another note; I can't remember if it was Twilight Zone or Outer Limits, but can anybody remember the name of the episode where the father/husband becomes ill (or something like that) and he starts having difficulty understanding and being understood by members of his own family - the upshot being (he is in a parallel universe?) and all the words that he uses now have completely different meanings and he has to learn to read all over again. Example: the word CAT in his universe means the word HOUSE in our universe. - The final scene(s) showing him reading a childrens' book.

Any ideas?

Cheers.

Sometimes I think we are alone in the universe, and sometimes I think we are not. In either case the idea is quite staggering.

Hi kinhull. Found the answer on IMDB. "The Twilight Zone" To Serve Man (1962).
Episode list for "The Twilight Zone" (1959) will give you a symmary for any other episodes.

Thanks Keith T.,

I'm not sure but I think what I was looking for was this episode: Person or Persons Unknown, though I'll have to watch it to be sure.

On another note: Episode list for "The Outer Limits"
