While I've been with SETI@home for a few years, I'm new to the forums. I have some questions for the teams.

What're the benefits to going a team?
Which teams are active?
And- the big one-
What sets your team apart from the rest?

I'm not asking for a comparison and I'm not meaning to sound like a snob or anything of the sorts. I wouldn't want to join just any group- that would not benefit either of us. I'm looking for which group would most compatible. There are so many of them it's overwhelming- so I thought this post might help.

Hi MzSnowleopard

What're the benefits to going a team?
Just depends, many teams do many different things. Some are Country drivin' others stats drivin. I guess its more what do you want in your team.

Which teams are active?
There are many teams active. Accross many projects. Several regularly post in the Recruitment area here. Some chat, some don't.

What sets your team apart from the rest?
Humm. I Joined Calm Chaos because they are all friendly folks. As like you I signed-up with Seti@Home many years ago. Had a few years break there for a while. But Last year hooked back up. Never noticed a forum,LOL. But then started looking into teams. I started my own before finding the forums. But while reading around Calm Chaos kinda stuck out to me. 1) Everyone was nice, and even though had my own team (with no members) they were chatty and fun. 2) The name Just stuck out. Not sure why. So I joined. And glad I did.

But glad to see that you have found the forums here. (can also take a look at the Clam Chaos Fourms also, fun chat there) And hope you find a great team for yourself. Hope to see ya around.

Thanks Rick

That's the type of overview response I'm looking for.

The irony with me is that while I enjoy and encourage people to be individual there is still that part of me forever seeking a place to fit in- without having to sacrifice who I am, the person I've become, or the things I like to do.

I'm such an odd-ball.

Hmm....my best way of letting you know what it is about Calm Chaos that makes us stand out from the crowd is to simply tell you to take a look at our home page, and our team description on the team page here.

Benefits - It really depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for a place to hang out and just chat about anything and everything...some teams are good for that. If you are looking for a team to let you know how to get more credits and RAC out of your computer, there are teams out there for that as well. It all depends on what you want. :-)

I'm not asking for a comparison and I'm not meaning to sound like a snob or anything of the sorts. I wouldn't want to join just any group- that would not benefit either of us. When I first joined the boards, I had several teams try to recruit me to join them. The biggest problem was that I really didn't feel like I fit in with any of them.

A friend suggested that I just start a team, so I did. That's why I list myself as CO Founder of the team on our forums. It took me a bit to come up with the Calm Chaos concept, but I am glad that I did. :-) I only show up as Founder because I am the guy that gets us attatched to all the projects that take new accounts. lol

Whatever team you decide to join ( even if you choose not to join one ) you are more than welcome to join us on the Calm Chaos Forums, and welcome to check out our new website here Calm Chaos Official Website

Your question didn't come off as snobby or anything even close to that. You asked a very good question. It's always a good thing when someone wants to find a place where everyone benefits from their membership.
