Been "out of the loop" for 4 days now. No new work, Server down, Database not available, and currently all wu completed w/downloads queued but not actually downloading.

I know that the staffing is skinny and we've just weathered a holiday weekend. This is just to add arrows to their info quiver.

Everything seemed normal on my SETI account on Sunday, but it looks like the server is back in crash mode?

Anything from the powers that be?

Actually there is a national holliday stateside and today there will be the outage so... I guess they are going to get things right tonight at the same time as my fellow swede adds some pieces of Matts music into her system.

Well after a long weekend of badness for us crunchers it comes a Tuesday and the servers are down for weekly maintenance. To bad they can't do that over the weekend when lately we have no work anyway. I guess this major rebuild started by the server failure is going to take a long time to get back to normal. As I recall normal used to be three to five weeks in a row of up time.

Yes, Matt is probably out playing "rock star" again and don't have time for us.

I do not know about you; but I have my job and my outside interests as well.

Most people that I am familar with do as well. Matt is paid to provide services
for a certain amount of hours per week and he must be fulfilling that requirment
as he has been employed here for sometime.

I would kindly suggest that you not personalize the problems here to one
individual (Matt) as he is not the sole employee.

Perhaps instead of bemoaning Matt's 'lack' of work effort, you could donate
a new server or two?!?

I have had connections problems only over the last twelve hours (not several days),
and now have two work units crunching and one ready to start and a queue still trying
to download.

Wow, for a somewhat frivolous timewaster like seti@home, you sure do take this personally Crystallize. That little 8 Year member icon you have will most likely read 38 year member before a positive signal is found, if at all. Be patient friend :)

BINGO! 4 WU uploaded, 3 downloaded, and the clouds are made of cotton candy!

In the mean time, I cleaned out some more of my garage, swapped out a burned out headlight bulb on my motorcycle, installed a headlight modulator on same, watched it rain for the 15th consecutive day, and saw an ark float past the house (it *is* a 5 day holiday weekend after all).
