hi there just got my seti working on my dads pc and i have noticed that it start and does 50% or there abouts very quickley like 5 min. but from then after it seems to take uptp (total time) about 2h 35m ish is this normal my dads pc is running amd 64bit 2400+ with 512mb ram with win xp pro sp2. P.S THANK TO ALL THOSE PEOPLE THAT TRIED TO HELP ME YESTERDAY TO GET SETI WORKING ON MY PC BUT I STILL CANT GET IT WORKING. I THINK THE BOINC PROGRAM NEEDS TO KNOW WHAT CPU YOU HAVE. BUT FOR SOME REASON MY CPU WILL NOT TELL MY COMPUTER WHAT IT IS, IT WILL TELL MY SYSTEM WHAT SPEED IT IS. |

Seti classic did it aswell. As far as i know the start of most WU's are just standard analysing phases where the system prepares itself to analyse, after that it starts to search for signals etc, thats why it goes so fast. Its not a problem, ive seen it happen to alot of pc's. I only wish that the whole WU would finish that quich. http://boinc.mundayweb.com/seti2/stats.php?userID=1302 |

Have you tried to do a search using your CPU type? If you go back to the beginning of the message boards there is a "keyword search". It works pretty good. http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/forum_index.php |
