Hi,

I just installed Debian Etch and boinc. I was running boinc and I had to force shutdown the PC without exiting boinc. When I had my system rebooted and I tried to restart boinc, it showed me an error:

GUI RPC bind failed: -1

How do I get over this error and have boinc started?

Thanks.

Running Mandriva Cooker. Had the same error in the middle of running BOINC. It continued to run, though. I also suffering often from the [ error ] Process .... not found. A couple of days were wasted by them and I threw away all related content. I switched to Einstein when the seti server was down and there saw no problems at all.

One thing that I do, when I can't get the GUI-RPC thingy working is type, in a terminal or the console at ctrl+alt+f2, boinc -no_gui_rpc. Then it works, but I don't believe that you have the GUI functions.
