For some years ago I did enyoy to help SETI but after a reinstalation of windows did I not reinstall SETI and forgot it. But now the idea the help SETI comeback and I did start a quick searc for SETI.

First set back is that SETI no more is SETI, it is BOINC; wtf is a BOINC? The second set back is that is a freaking team game for neard lamers who make helping to a lame game.

No way, if SETI go back to the roots with a singel SETI program that can work as a screensaver and skip this team crap then I manby will comeback.

Or is it only I who getin anoyed about BOINC and silly team games?

P.S Sorry for the spelling.

Ummm...

1) Please read Matt Lebofsky's post as to why SETI@Home Classic will not be coming back.

2) BOINC is the Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing. It is an infrastructure that allows many different underfunded science projects get the computing power it needs by tapping into the same power the original SETI@Home had. SETI@Home itself ran out of funding, so it was ported over to BOINC (SETI@Home and BOINC are not the same thing) in an effort to save it. Without BOINC, SETI@Home would have shut down and would not exist - you'd have no project to help out!

3) Teams are not necessary in BOINC. I am not part of a team. I assure you this is no game, no more than SETI@Home Classic was.

Now, if you have any other questions, feel free to ask and somebody will help.

A partial list of BOINC projects can be found at the BOINC web site and at BOINC Stats and at BOINC Synergy
