I've just tried connecting to http://lunatics.at/ and http://www.kwsn.net/ both sites seem to be down currently. Anyone know why? Sir Arthur C Clarke 1917-2008 |

Pfft...er, I run lunatics.at... Thing is, it's hosted on the same machine as the KWSN main and forum sites, so they all go down or up at the same time, no mystery there. Every few days to weeks, there is a (usually short) outage while some router where it's hosted gets its knickers in a knot. Give it an hour or two, it'll be back. BTW, Crunch3r is active at lunatics.at as well :o) Regards, Simon. Donate to SETI@Home via PayPal! Optimized SETI@Home apps + Information |

I think they are upset about whatever it was that happened back whenever it was that it happened with the cruncher optimized apps. (I don't remember any more because once I got past it, it wasn't worth remembering the details anymore.) Sounds like you have gotten past it and everything is cool. I wish everyone could get past it. Take care and have a nice day. :) |

Well I'm not sure what happened this time... The server was powered off after a graceful shutdown. Horray for the Dell remote access card that let me power it back on from a thousand miles away! Our hosting arrangement isn't exactly optimal... but it is free so we put up with occasinal down time. As chicken said earlier two routers sometimes start playing hot potato with our packets but being shut down like this pretty rare. They may have deicded to move the box to a different rack without telling us. Hope they got it done before I powered it back up. If not there may be another outage in the near future :( A member of The Knights Who Say NI! For rankings, history graphs and more, check out: My BOINC stats site |

Thanks for the update, Toby! DRAC is neat, definitely... We have a saying here "einem geschenkten Gaul schaut man nicht ins Maul" - meaning, "don't complain about things you got for free"... Having typed that, let me thank you again for kindly hosting lunatics.at on Ni :o) Have a Ni!ce day, Simon. Donate to SETI@Home via PayPal! Optimized SETI@Home apps + Information |
