Hi,
I configured my SETI settings to use the logo image at http://www.usask.ca/images/logo-curved.jpg
This did correctly download the image and display it on my SETI screensaver. However since the system came up on Sept. 7, several things have happened.
BOINC tries to download the logo image, complains that the URL is invalid or the image is in a bad format (it wasn't), then BOINC crashes. The icon stays on the "start" menu's active tasks area, until I move my mouse over it, then it disappears.
This has happened both in Windows XP SP2, and Windows 98. I am using BOINC version 4.07, and SETI version 4.03. I had separate settings for work, home, and school, but the logo image was identical in all three.
I did manage to fix this by changing my SETI@HOME settings to remove the logo image. The FIRST time I start BOINC after that, it crashes again. However, after that it seems to work fine.
I think the logo image follows the rules. Only 3088 bytes. 110 x 107 pixels. But even if it doesn't follow the rules, it shouldn't crash the system. I should just get a message telling me it is not an acceptable image.
Thanks,
