I have a dedicated BOINC PC (2000 Pro)that I need to run a 10 day cache (no internet connection) on and want to have it's preferences different than my other 'always on- always connected' PC (XP Home) with a 0.5 day cache. I see online in the SETI edit preferences section where I can specify different setups for home, work and school. How do I change each PC's default designation in BOINC from 'home' to either 'school' or 'work'? Or am I on the wrong track? Thanks! |

Right idea. This web site -> your account -> computers on this account -> computer name. Near the bottom of the page there should be a drop down with ---, home, work, and school listed. It can also be changed through the BOINC account managers (and should be changed there if you are attached through there). You can also change it through global_prefs_override.xml. If you don't have one of these, by copying global_prefs.xml to global_prefs_override.xml. Edit global_prefs_override.xml to match what you need. Anything not specified in global_prefs_override defaults to whatever is in global_prefs.xml. BOINC WIKI |
