I believe Fin already tried it and it didn't worked. I just noticed that he's using a local preferences file. I think that's why it didn't worked.

If this is indeed true, how many other users will run into the same predicament? I think this issue, if found to be the problem, should be brought to the attention of the developers so as to avoid future issues for end users.

Finally found th time to check back into this. Busy at work and unwilling to do much anything on my PC at home but switch on some MMORPG nad try to forget that I live like a nomad.

Anyway, here goes:
which is the local pref file? I wasnt able to locate one in the folder?
I found a global prefs XML file and I managed my prefs via the account website without problems so far.

I really dont know why it tries to download that stupid jpg file. Which, btw, kept its ending.

On a side note:
I am using a UMTS modem to DL the files. Maybe it is related to that.

I am quite at a loss what to do. Will have a go at Chickens site and optimized client now.
