When I first started seti@home years ago, I had a really nice screen saver that looked like my computer was actually doing something important. I have reconnected after about a year of being unable to connect because I could not run BOINC. The new screen saver, with its wiggly graphics and exploding star field, looks tacky and stupid. Is there any way of returning to what used to be a tasteful and informative saver?

Some people prefer that "tacky and stupid" screen saver because it actually moves and therefore does it's job of saving the screen. Many people have complained about screen burn on their LCDs due to an unmoving image such as the old screen saver.

But, if you'd like, here's a link to some information about making the wobbling effect stop. Don't say you weren't forewarned if you have an LCD or Plasma monitor!
