Since yesterday all my WU have been "Compute error" . Today I closed down boinc and rebooted, now it tells me Im over quota. whats up? I have now reset the project, and as no work is available, suspended it. Ideas? "Sun 4 Mar 18:58:32 2007|SETI@home|Sending scheduler request: Requested by user Sun 4 Mar 18:58:32 2007|SETI@home|Requesting 154875 seconds of new work, and reporting 7 completed tasks Sun 4 Mar 18:58:42 2007|SETI@home|Scheduler RPC succeeded [server version 509] Sun 4 Mar 18:58:42 2007|SETI@home|Message from server: No work sent Sun 4 Mar 18:58:42 2007|SETI@home|Message from server: (reached daily quota of 40 results) Sun 4 Mar 18:58:42 2007|SETI@home|Deferring communication for 14 hr 27 min 29 sec Sun 4 Mar 18:58:42 2007|SETI@home|Reason: requested by project" A typical result shows <core_client_version>5.8.15</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> Can't create shared memory: system shmget </message> ]]> The only change I have made to my system was about 2 days ago when I started running the Mac beta Climateprediction.net boinc module. Before I had no problem. Related? |

Since yesterday all my WU have been "Compute error" . Today I closed down boinc and rebooted, now it tells me Im over quota. whats up? Your hosts’s quota has been reduced because of the erroneous results it submitted. Don’t worry; each successful result returned will double the quota until it’s back up to the default level. A typical result shows Slightly. In brief, Apple’s default system configuration is stingy with shared memory, even on multiple-CPU systems that are shipped with ample RAM. BOINC needs a separate block of shared memory for exchanging data between the client and each instance of a science app (one for each folder in the slots directory). Adding another project probably pushed you over the limit. For a more detailed discussionâ€â€and a remedyâ€â€see Configuring Shared Memory on Mac OS X from the Pirates@home website. |

directory). Adding another project probably pushed you over the limit. For a more detailed discussionâ€â€and a remedyâ€â€see Configuring Shared Memory on Mac OS X from the Pirates@home website.[/quote] I use only one project (seti) an this doesn´t help anything on my quad G5 Mac. I raised zhe Memory up to 8192 but always get <core_client_version>5.8.15</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> Can't create shared memory: system shmget </message> ]]> But my MacBook Pro works again after the change to 4096 but not my PowerMac :-( |
