To the moderators of SETI message board:
There seems to be a tendency as to whom can bring the biggest picture in the threads. In general, the idea is good for a screen pictures in order to show and/or explain, but the absolute meaningless pictures, is there no way they can be avoided?

It's really a "Everything or nothing" situation. Either all images are allowed or they are not.

Instead you should make the people posting the images aware about what they are doing - most people I know are sensible enough to resize them or post a remote-link instead when the images are too large.

Why not show a link to the picture instead of thr picture, then if someone wants to see the picture they can click on the link.
Picture that are directly related to the thread topic are ok, but picture not having anything to do with the topic should have a link.
Some user post almost a full screen of the same pictures every time they post, sorry but I get tried of seeing those pictures over and over.

I agree. Seeing a dozen banners at the end of some peoples posts is a bit much.
