Hi, I've been updating Boinc to my computers but on some of them without success. Out of six computers so far three has failed. OS (win2000, win xp) and previous versions of Boinc (5.4.11 and 5.3.12) vary on these hosts. After I stopped boincmgr and boinc daemon I run the installation package (single user install) and everything seems to progress as planned but when installation routine tries to launch Boinc it gives error: Internal error 2753. boincmgr.exe Manually starting Boinc starts the previous version like nothing new was ever installed. On two computers none of the executable files in Boinc folder has been changed, on one computer only boinc.exe was changed from 5.4.11 -> 5.8.15 but boincmgr.exe is still 5.4.11. Rebooting and reinstalling (repair) does not make any difference. Removing Boinc completely may be next step but I am unwilling to do it just now as two of these host have about 2000 hours worth of unfinished workunits for CPDN. On three computers updating went just fine (win2000,winXP, winXP x64 and Boinc 5.3.12). Anybody have similar experinces or pointers how to solve this without removing Boinc first completely? |

Just replace the executables and dlls manually. To extract them from the .msi use the /a switch. |

Internal Error 2753 Thank you for the link. I removed Boinc using installer without deleting manually any files from Boinc folder. Then copied all executables and now everything seems to run OK and I didn't loose any WU's. Thanks again! |
