I can't get my seti@home to run based on preferences. On the website I have set the 'general' and the 'home computer' preferences to 'run after idle for 3 minutes', but, on the simple view preferences, the "do work after idle" drop-down always defaults to "0 run always". No matter how many times I press and save '3 minutes' in simple view preferences and use the 'update' button in 'project' seti just keeps running as 'always on'. Help appreciated. |

Try moving it to one of the other venues home/work/school. Sometimes that works better. |

Cheers. Nothing worked so I just throttled CPU time back to 60% and let it always run. That keeps my PC to within safe temperatures. Even with the very effective Zalman CNPS9500 heatsink fan on my 3.0 D processor I was getting 56C when allowing Boinc 100% CPU time. 45C case temp. Right on the thresholds. Nothing else I run pushes the temps so high. I might get extra and better case fans and try again. |

That works for me but 56C is not really that high, I have a dual core 3.2ghz with HT on each core and it is running 83C! But if your machine doesn't like it that high that is okay. I have a Zalman too. I have a fan in the front, a hole in the side and a fan in the back. EE cpu's just run hot. |
