Seti Classic had a really good map program called StarMap.

For Seti-Boinc, the only map program is Seti Map View, which is quite cumbersome and not all that pleasant.

This would be a good project, if anyone wants to take it up. I bet it would be very popular, as well.

No need to re-invent the wheel, what I was thinking would be something along the lines of this:

A third party, completely stand-alone, application that simply just reads the coordinates from a selected work unit and then calls up Nasa's World Wind Sloan Digital Sky Survey program...
