How do you purge old results that are just plain stuck in the system? I have an old result from Aug. 2005 that is still showing and preventing me from removing an old unit that is no longer alive, see link below:

Yes, there are 3 results that are apparently in a validated state, and it looks to me as though the database is screwed up. Maybe the "office" would appreciate sight of this anomaly, and could correct it. For all we know, it may be part of the continuing problem with Upload/Download outages, but that's probably just wishful thinking.

As a matter of interest, there is another work unit stuck in exactly the same way. It is on the same day, and includes 3 non-existent computers together with 2507568, which also occurs in the other work unit:-

98786151 2507568 10 Aug 2005 11:42:36 UTC 11 Aug 2005 11:14:32 UTC Over Success Done 9,806.66 16.59 30.94

I suspect there may well be others.

How do we let the "office" know? I just hope that Matt and Eric check the boards and see this posting....

Evening

If you can provide the information in a format such as

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=23410531

That would make it easier to track and get it fixed... If any others have items to add now is the time... It may take a while but at least it is identified.

I will add this to the list of items...

Is this the format you would like?

OK. The problem computer is as follows as a link:-

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=2507568

Both work units for this computer have the same symptom.
I give the computer's link because the link to the 2nd work unit yields only links to inactive computers:-

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=23402469

Hope that makes sense, but I'm sure you'll see the problem when you go to the above links.
Details of the problem work unit, I am repeating here for convenience:-

Just for the record, if you have Firefox, you can download and install a add-on called Linkification. It will convert any text with URL-like or email address format into a working hyperlink on your browser's screen.

Maybe this link is more useful in pinpointing 2 "stale" results:-

23423349 - Aug 2005
52570717 - Feb 2006 (SETI says "can't find workunit", yet the result 219876056 still sits on the account.)

Anyone been able to check on this yet, or call the 'front office'? Just wondering, but I understand if you guys/gals are still busy working on Kryten and the disc issues.

Hi all, first post, been lurking around for a while, though.
I have a couple of work units that won't disappear, so I thought I'd add them
to the list:

Has anyone at the 'home office' been able to look into this issue yet? I would like to know how to resolve this if possible on my end, or have someone else at the office resolve it so I can delete an old unit no longer in service.

I have a few of the 2005 vintage WU's too:
23429845
23419415
23410243

This one 49835173 is on the WU list, but says "can't find workunit" if you click on the link to the WU.
You may be able to see it through this link: 208608351

NOT ONLY 2005, THEY ARE ALL CREATED ON 10TH AUGUST 2005 !!!!!!
Just like all the others reported, as far as I can tell.

There surely ought to be some way of removing them at SETI.
I sent an email to Matt Lobofsky, but I don't suppose he managed to read it.

Something tells me that there may be more then one date that has a few of these 'stuck' results...I am betting that they might have to be manually purged from the system by someone. Mine still shows, and from the looks of it so do a few others...even at almost 18 months old...

Every single "stale unit", including yours, reported on this thread without exception were created and sent on 10th August 2005. Now, there may be other dates involved, but none have been reported on this thread. Maybe it would be helpful for these also to be reported here (should there be any), so that Matt or Eric or someone may be able to clear these from the database,

LET'S HOPE SOMEONE DOES SEE THIS PLEA. I have sent an email direct to Matt Lobofsky.

It cannot be too much of a problem to eliminate from the active database all units created on 10th August 2005.

This has actually been a ongoing issue. Someone might consider making this a sticky until it's been resolved.

Here are a few more . . .

Workunit ID:
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=23413672
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=23399147
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=23400052

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=23640764
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=23646536

For the following, the workunit has been purged but the result is still listed:
