WU's are available - so why can't I have some?

We are currently experiencing database performance problems. This is resulting in erratic workunit downloads.

I hate to dash hopes of an early recovery from the current round of problems but this information was taken from Berkeley Spring Calendar: "Spring Semester begins Tue 1/9/2007". As an employee of a state university I think it is likely that Berkeley employees will not report for work today and may be out for the rest of the week. I did not find an employee calendar for Berkeley.

Even though the students are not back to the 9th Jan, the staff are usually in the week before. I know this from experience working as a classroom assistant, the staff have things to do and most university only close on bank holidays.

> don't know if (?) it's relevant - though i heard - on the NEWS - that Tuesday & Wednesday were 'declared' a Federal Holiday (for Washington, DC) because of President Ford's Passing / Viewings etc . . . might affect / effect the stasis of Universities etc . . . hope this helps ;)

Don't forget te servers will come down in the next 10 to 15 minutes for the weekly database maintenance. This problem should be sorted, and the results shon by the erattic Cogent Link should get back to normal after a major grabbing for new WUs.

I'm still waiting for both uploads and downloads. I've got one machine that's been completely out of work since the middle of the night (MST) and another that will be within the hour.

New WUs coming down OK with some difficulty, but resolvd with time.

Still not able to upload completed results.

Probably due to the load on the servers, and demand for new WUs?

Well let's keep in mind the project has been crippled big time for three days, so there is going to plenty of hungry hosts looking to get rid of what they have already done and get back in the game full bore.

Probably going to take more than a couple hours to get caught up.

Looking at the Graph, it would appear things are looking good so far. Only time will tell for sure though. As Alinator stated, with them just coming back online, gonna be hit and miss for a while, till everyone's computers are happy again.

Yep, the solid packet figures are very encouraging.
