	SADDAM LIKELY TO BE HANGED BEFORE NEW YEAR The Iraqi government is "anxious to get Saddam's execution done" and that it is likely to be carried out before the New Year â€” perhaps even within the next 24 hours, a U.S. military official told FOX News. This official says American forces are now in the process of finalizing the former Iraqi dictator's transfer to Iraqi custody and to the location where he would be executed. Several U.S. officials say they are not ruling out Saddam being put to death as early as Friday. Hundreds of Iraqis Apply to Be Saddam Hussein's Hangman AMMAN, Jordan â€” Hundreds of Iraqis have offered to act as hangman in the execution of Saddam Hussein, according to senior officials in the Baghdad Government. Some requests have been e-mailed to the office of Nouri al-Maliki, the Iraqi Prime Minister, from around the world. Mr. al-Maliki has also been directly petitioned by government officials who want to place the noose around Saddamâ€™s neck. Many ordinary Justice Ministry employees are too terrified to carry out an execution, fearing reprisals from the dead manâ€™s family. Those who do volunteer to act as the executioner may well have lost a relative to violence in the post-Saddam era or had a relative killed by Saddamâ€™s regime. ____________

I guess we could have post-hanging video, but probably not anything live. They (the MEDIA) has announced that they (?) will be showing [edited] parts of the execution - this is because they have been aware that there are people - over there - that want to "SEE" it for real - so they KNOW it actually happened . . . and parts WILL be show 'live' - oh boy . . .

	Sorry, but i am not a supporter of a death penalty. Yes, he was a tyrant, but the to hang Saddam is to good for him. Maybe he will going to be a martyr. Put him into jail for the rest of his life. Thats enough. ____________

	Saddam Hussein has been handed over by the US to the Iraqi authorities. The Iraqis have been hanging criminals for a year now and are very used to what to do. It is unlikely that they will hang him before/over New Year since it would be akin to us hanging somebody on Christmas Day. However, they could already have done it. ____________

We said they had all these weapons of mass destruction We said they were part of al qaeda What possible good came from this? We captured a dictator. It was Bush Senior who armed, and supported him. Should one call it cynicsm or hypocrisy that he is now "handed over"? As I have said before, the deed SHOULD have been done the minute he was captured. He should have been shot "trying to escape". [edit] And his corpse put on display like that of Mussolini. [/edit] Killing him now will do nothing for peace in the Area. Yet another mistake.

Thats enough. I agree. Can't imagine how many more people will be killed because of his execution. It will set off a mass of suicide bombings.
