I am looking for some help with setting up boinc as a windows service. I have the newest version. I get an error everytime I start it.

Could not start the BOINC service on Local Computer.

rror 1067: the process terminated unexpectedly.

I wan to run it as a service and then use boincview to monitor several computers on the network.

I guess that you have run the 'boinc_cli -install' already
as you have gotten to that error message

Here's the solution:
1. Start up Services (Start/Settings/Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services)
2. Find BOINC on the list, right click, select properties
3. Click the 'Log On' tab at the top of the properties window
4. Change 'Log On as:' to 'Local System Account'

Quick fix.. Found it myself today as I installed BOINC as a service on a few machines.

Read somewhere on the forums on how to do it another way.. But this seems quick
and it works, so why not.. =)

Cheers
/Henrik

Other than looking in the service, how can I tell that it is running? Have you tried using boincview?
