My computer preempted a project/task about 85% into the task, and the memory was deleted. Is there anyway of re-uploading a task so the the project can be completed? Thanks in advance. Please email me at jdhanson@ptd.net as I don't always remember to get back to threads (senior moments). |

My computer preempted a project/task about 85% into the task, and the memory was deleted. Is there anyway of re-uploading a task so the the project can be completed? Thanks in advance. Please email me at jdhanson@ptd.net as I don't always remember to get back to threads (senior moments). This should straighten itself out. In most projects tasks checkpoint occasionally so that they can restart from partway through the computation rather than the beginning again. If a task is preempted part way through, that means that some other task needs the CPU right now in order to complete. Once this is done the task that is preempted will continue from the last checkpoint if it was removed from memory, or where computation stopped if it was not removed from memory. [edit] P.S. You can always subscribe to a thread to get an email anytime that a post is made to that thread. BOINC WIKI |
