Sitting here with 2 x XP machines processing as normal and 2 x 98SE machines I cant turn on doing nothing that I want to use to process Seti packets.

No, I dont want to have to go install classic seti on them all over again. I know I am really selfish but I want all machines to easily do the Boinc/Seti work.

It has been some days since I have been able to use the WIN98 machines with Boinc/Seti. How long do we still have to wait until the fix is out please?

I am, as most are, annoyed - it's fairly natural of course - and understand that "sh*t happens" when you program things as complex as Boinc/Seti. At this point I am wondering what the heck possessed Seti to go down the Boinc route.

Any answer as to when we may expect things to be fixed would REALLY be appreciated - that is from the Boinc people who program. Telling me to sit and wait happily is guaranteed not to be a productive answer!

Greg.

Too bad they never put it up for download in the normal "participate" area or posted it in the damned news! Jeez that shits me!

Greg.

P.S. thanks for the details.....

Okay, I've built a new build, BOINC CC 4.06.

The build can be downloaded from here:
http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/boinc_alpha/download/boinc_4.06_windows_intelx86.exe

Symbols can be downloaded from here:
http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/boinc_alpha/download/boinc_406_pdb.zip

Be advised this build hasn't been vetted by the Alpha team. I do need somebody who is adventurous to tell me if this build helped out at all though.
