Do all the mods get all the red-X'd e-mails, or does the server alternate between sending emails to different mods?

The new mods have to sign up to get the emails. However, I believe that they all get all of the red X emails. It wouldn't do to have a serious breach stay up for a while because the mod that got the email was on sabbatical.

BTW, new mods aren't on the mod mailing list unless they ask me to put them there. Mods can mail me at < my last name > @ < ssl dot berkeley dot edu > if they want to get the list.

Did you get an email too?

Nope. But then I remembered ooops I'm not signed up. But it does confirm Eric's statement.

Well, then we need a right-wing extremist to take care of that you won't be abused from the left-wing extremist here, don't we?

Yeah, but then the problem is that I become as bad as them (if not worse)...

That will be very hard. :-O

I'm setting up an experiment that will automatically assign some new moderators based upon a few criteria that have been chosen to (I hope) give an indication of a persons commitment to the project.

I'm going to start out with 20 new mods. We'll see how it goes.

Eric

At least 2 of the new mods have been on my plonk list for ages. I refuse to unblock them and will be taking my crunch business elsewhere. So long SETI and thanks for the fish.

I don't know what the rules are for auto-modding Eric, but would someone like to note that I have no interest in that area, and would say no if asked.

Awww ABT_Chuck_P, that is bad. :-(

They were drawn randomly, from some criteria only known to Eric, from the database.

I hope you change your mind.

Yet another user "the group" has cost Seti.

Well well. I stay away from the Cafe for a few weeks and look what happens. At first I thought it to be a joke. But, it's just an experiment. I will see how it goes, for now. I have other things happening in my RL now that take up quite a bit of my time. Yet, I will find time to help with this experiment.

Oh, and just in case some may be wondering, no I will not abuse.

Thank you.... (-:<

What's happening?

It's moderation, Jim, but not as we know it.

Welcome back and good luck.

Avoid P'on Farr while modding!

Pon'farr is every seven years. I now have 6 years, 357 days, 5.4 hours before my next one. Modding while going through pon'farr could prove to be disastrous. Thank you.... (-:<

Thank you, oh fat one! I shall endeavor to fullfill the position with pride and distinction. She, who is my Ashaya, tends to keep me away, a lot, a most welcome distraction. So, my time here will be limited. Thanks again, Willie.... (-:<
