Hi all ! I have a "strong workstation" based on Pentium D 840 Extreme Edition (two true cores + 2 hyper threadings). WinXP x64 system recognizes it as 4-core CPU. When I have install BOINC v5.4.11 + Setiathome v5.15 and run them, there began 4 workunits simultaneously with 100% loading of “all 4 CPUsâ€Â. In a few days I have re-install BOINC & Seti. But I have only 2 workunits simultaneously with 50% of “all 4 CPUs†now! I can’t start 2 others workunits which stayes in queue. 4 workunits simultaneously earlier (before re-install) and only 2 now. Neither BIOS nor system environments are not been changed. And no hardware upgrades or updates are applied. What can I do with this problem? More thanks for all !! |

Hi all ! Hi Oleg, please check your General Preferences for the entry "On multiprocessors, use at most xx processors". As far as I know, this is set to "2" by default, so change it to "4" and save your changes. Then open BOINC manager, projects tab, hilight Seti@Home and click "Update" button. It should start to crunch on 4 cores again then. Happy crunching! Regards Andy |
