I'm running Ubuntu Edgy 6.10--using the Debian build of Boinc & SETI@home--Acording to the Debian Wiki, you can just xhost +local: & you will get graphics (tab non-grayed out)--So far this will not work & my stderr.txt has no errors in it--any more info anyone need?? Any Ideas?? |

Any Ideas?? It sounds like the graphics is not compiled in. Have you tried the offical SETI application ? |

Not for a while---I have not wanted to change something that other than the graphics has been working very well--I'll look at the offerings & think about changing this weekend :( |

I decided to report a "bug" in LaunchPad--I think that the new version was not compiled without the --show_graphics flag----We'll see if that gets some action--it looks like the bug reports upstream to the Debian maintainer. |

Alternative, you could use the offical Linux Version from the SETI project, which has graphics compiled in. I am not shure, but if you delete the app_info.xml file in $BOINC_DIRECTORY/projects/setiathome.berkeley.edu/ and restart the BOINC Client it will download the offical application automaticly. |

Well--I've tried: 1. using the "Offical" boinc client (with the debian seti app) 2. Debian supplied boinc client with optimized seti app 3. Offical boinc app with optimized seti app In all cases, no graphics--tab still grayed out--I'm thinking that it might be a problem with the new version of Xorg that Edgy is using---- |
